If you are driving down Highway 95 between Tonapah NV and Las Vegas NV, my favorite pit stop is to see the International Car Forest of the Last Church located in Goldfield Nevada. The ghost town of Goldfield is also fun to poke around and see all the historic sites and abandoned buildings. The Car Forest resembles the buried Cadillacs at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. To some, it may appear as a junk car graveyard, to others, modern-day art. It is quite stunning to see in person! Cars are artist palates, and a wide variety of bright contrasting colors reflect off the peaceful backdrop of the Mojave desert landscape. The art is from Eddie Colla @eddiecolla, and others, whose expressions can be seen on street art and art installations popping up worldwide. Photos are from two visits in the winter as you can see by the snow on the ground. If you do visit in the winter, bring a jacket, it gets quite cold and windy. The address for the International Car Forest of the Last Church is 1111 East, Crystal Ave, Goldfield, NV 89013. Please check out their website for events and to make donations.
