Gather Food & Family is one of those Carson City restaurants you keep thinking about after you leave. It was that delicious! Located in the heart of the revitalized downtown district, they remodeled the old Horse Club Building into one of the cozy places to eat in Carson City NV. If you are a fan of gourmet, healthy, farm to table dining, I would like to recommend the dishes below. If you want to get a feel for the menu, It is posted at the bottom of the page. For an appetizer, we ordered the Hearty Garlic Bread with Mussels and Garlic. The Hearty Garlic Bread is also available separately as an appetizer. No matter what, you must try the bread. The mussels were also exceptional, when I looked across the room, nearly every patron had ordered it. It was one of the daily specials. For an appetizer, we ordered the Deviled Farm Fresh Eggs. Local pate, sourdough crackers, black truffle oil. Without a doubt, the best deviled eggs I have ever had. Also, if you are a pate fan, the old school dish will make you smile! For lunch, we had the daily special - crab cakes with lobster cream, herb sauce. For those of you that are saying, I wish I was there... I am doing this for you! Someone has to taste test, and I give it a perfect score! For lunch, we also had the Grain Bowl - Kale, Quinoa & Black Bean Bowl. Roasted cauliflower, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and garlic. Dressed with a green limonato - infused olive oil, white balsamic and garnished with fresh green beans, sliced radishes, and toasted pumpkin seeds. Every bite was like having a veggie party in your mouth! The seasoning was perfect, and every bit had a different taste. The dish could not have been more satisfying. Don't forget about dessert. Try the delicious Lemon Bars. There is a cozy window seat for patrons to sit while waiting for a table. The restaurant has both a bar and restaurant area for seating.
