A Hereford cow and a Hereford bull might be a common sight to the residence of Genoa, Nevada. But... if you are a tourist from a big city, a herd of cattle is not what you see on the 405. The tranquility of the herd grazing below the eastern sierra mountain valley range is both peaceful and picturesque. Watching mothers with their calves is a drive I would like to take every day. The Hereford Bull is saying..."You Talking' To Me?" Can anyone guess what movie that line is from? Beautiful face on a Hereford Cow Hereford cow with her calf Genoa NV, known for its historic settlement, is a must-stop for visitors. They have a Genoa Historic District, Genoa's oldest bar, antique stores, restaurants, shops, hot springs, and of course, beautiful animals and wildlife. They are just 25 minutes east from South Lake Tahoe and approximately 42 miles south of Reno. Look for my further posts on visiting historic Genoa. Leave me a comment on what you would like to see. Thank you, Linda

AuthorMy love for animals comes from parents when they use to buy me play horse statues and later my first pony when I was five. The pony was kind of mean, so I then got a horse. One horse later grew to a whole stable of many horses, cats, and a dog. We even had a few cattle at one time. ArchivesCategories |
